What You’ll Be Doing:
- Design, develop, and execute manual test cases for mobile applications (Android and iOS)
- Collaborate with developers, peer QA engineers, and designers to understand requirements and ensure complete test coverage.
- Maintain and expand our test automation framework built with Node.js and WebdriverIO.
- Debug complex issues involving mobile apps, Bluetooth connectivity, and navigation features.
- Perform regression, exploratory, and acceptance testing for each release cycle.
- Contribute to continuous quality improvements by identifying testing bottlenecks and process gaps.
- Provide clear and concise bug reports with reproducible steps and relevant logs/screenshots.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience in Manual Testing of mobile applications
- Solid understanding of Mobile QA methodologies on both Android and iOS, tools, and best practices.
- Experience with test automation using one or more of these languages: TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, or Python.
- Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks like WebDriverIO, Appium, or similar.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, especially with mobile devices and environments.
- Hands-on experience testing Bluetooth interactions and navigation functionality
- Familiarity with test management and bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Notion,etc.)
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Understanding of Page Object Models and how to build reusable test components
- Exposure to CI/CD processes (e.g., GitHub Actions) and incorporating tests into pipelines.
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and microservices architecture
- Awareness of system design fundamentals — understands why and where different testing layers (unit, integration, E2E) fit in.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, iterative, and collaborative environments
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to performance or stress testing of mobile apps.
- Familiarity with gRPC or API testing tools such as Postman.
- Experience with simulators/emulators and managing real device test labs.
- ISTQB or similar QA certifications (optional but appreciated)
- Proficiency in Japanese Language.
- Motorbike license in Japan.
