InCharge Energy is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented QA Engineer I to support the development, testing, and integration of EV charging systems. This role will help ensure the quality and reliability of charger hardware, firmware, and software through structured testing, technical analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The QA Engineer I will support charger onboarding and certification activities, evaluate system performance, document findings, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts across QA processes and testing methodologies. What You’ll Do

Quality Testing & Analysis

  • Execute software, firmware, and hardware test cases in alignment with established QA standards
  • Identify, document, and report defects, inconsistencies, and quality concerns
  • Review logs, system behavior, and test results to identify patterns, risks, and root causes
  • Support regression testing activities and assist with release readiness validation
  • Troubleshoot issues and assist in reproducing defects for development teams

Charger Onboarding & Certification Support

  • Support charger onboarding and certification activities through connectivity validation and interoperability testing
  • Assist with evaluating charger readiness and documenting onboarding results
  • Help verify expected charger functionality and communication behaviors

Documentation & Process Improvement

  • Maintain accurate QA documentation including test procedures, results, known issues, and charger capabilities
  • Follow established QA workflows and contribute ideas for process improvements
  • Assist with maintaining organized records and technical documentation standards

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with Development, Service, Product, and Vendor teams to identify and communicate issues
  • Escalate risks and quality concerns with supporting analysis and documentation
  • Provide timely updates regarding testing progress, defects, and expected system behavior
  • Support a collaborative and fast-paced technical environment

Your Experience and Capabilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 0–2 years of experience in quality assurance, software testing, technical analysis, or a related technical role
  • Understanding of software development lifecycles, testing methodologies, and defect management practices
  • Basic understanding of software integration concepts
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to evaluate technical information and exercise sound judgment within established processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to QA tools, test management systems, or defect tracking platforms
  • Familiarity with networking concepts, cloud environments, or IoT systems
  • Exposure to EV charging technologies or connected hardware systems
  • Experience reviewing logs, APIs, or system diagnostics

Physical and Environmental Demands

Include, but are not limited to: sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and working at a computer for extended periods of time within an office, lab, and technical testing environment. Occasional lifting of equipment up to 25 lbs may be required. This role may also involve limited travel to support testing, charger onboarding, or operational initiatives.

US Salary Range
$65,000$70,000 USD
