If you’re ready to start learning, growing and making an impact with a career in fintech, we’d like to know: Are you FIS?

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

As an API Test Engineer, your mission will be to define and champion the quality, reliability, performance, and security of Amount’s core APIs and microservices. You will act as the go-to technical expert, setting the architectural standards for API test automation across the platform.

A key focus will be leading the adoption and full-scale integration of AI-powered testing and analysis tools, moving beyond exploration to productionizing these capabilities to achieve step-change improvements in release velocity and quality coverage.

WHAT WE’LL TRUST YOU TO DELIVER:

  • Own the end-to-end API Quality Strategy, defining the target state for reliability, performance, and security across all microservices.
  • Execute automated and manual API tests (functional, performance, security, regression) using industry tools
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using Java, Python, or JavaScript
  • Build and maintain automation with frameworks like Playwright, Cypress, Selenium WebDriver
  • Drive the adoption and integration of AI-powered QA tools to accelerate test case generation, preemptively detect defects, and optimize coverage across complex systems.
  • Leverage API testing tools such as Postman, Rest Assured, SoapUI, JMeter
  • Integrate automated API tests with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Bamboo, Argo)
  • Identify, document, and track defects and performance issues to resolution
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and external vendors to refine API design and resolve issues
  • Monitor and analyze API performance metrics, identifying bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement
  • Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, results, and defect reports
  • Stay current with best practices in API testing and propose improvements to tools and processes

WHAT YOU LIKELY BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • 5+ years of relevant API testing or QA automation experience (Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred)
  • Financial domain knowledge, understanding of loan originations, deposits, Small Business Loans and credit card products (similar to a product manager perspective)
  • Advanced data management and analysis skills, including proficiency in SQL for complex data preparation, validation, and querying across relational and NoSQL databases for the purpose of test data management.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting complex Excel sheets for the purpose of test case design and data preparation.
  • Curiosity and openness to embedding AI into QA workflows, staying ahead of emerging best practices in quality engineering
  • Strong understanding of API architectural styles (REST, SOAP, GraphQL) and data formats (JSON, XML)
  • Proficiency  with Java for scripting and automation
  • Extensive, hands-on experience architecting and maintaining solutions using industry-standard API automation tools (Rest Assured, JUnit, TestNG) and performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, Argo) and version control (Git)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and microservices architectures
  • Working knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and query writing (SQL)
  • Strong problem-solving skills to debug and resolve complex API issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration across teams
