The QA Engineer Automated will support the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. This role is responsible for designing automated tests through the creation of scripts that run testing functions automatically. The QA Engineer Automated 3 determines the priority of test scenarios, develops execution plans, and documents automated testing processes. The candidate will perform moderately complex functional, application, and regression testing while interpreting requirement documents and updating test documentation accordingly. This role requires close collaboration with the Customer throughout the test cycle and the application of strong analytical, planning, and reporting skills. Experience testing healthcare applications is relevant to this engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Design automated tests by creating scripts that run testing functions automatically.
  • Determine the priority of test scenarios and create execution plans to implement them.
  • Create test plans, test cases, and prepare test environments.
  • Perform moderately complex functional, application, and regression testing.
  • Apply knowledge of the software development life cycle and software development methodologies.
  • Interpret requirement documents and update test documentation accordingly.
  • Provide analysis, planning, and management reporting support.
  • Acquire knowledge of the Customer's business in the assigned area.
  • Collaborate with the Customer as needed throughout the test cycle.
  • Communicate testing progress and findings to both technical and non-technical groups.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience designing automated tests by creating scripts that run testing functions automatically.
  • 8 years of experience prioritizing test scenarios and creating execution plans to implement these scenarios.
  • 8 years of experience creating test plans, test cases, and preparing test environments.
  • 8 years of experience performing moderately complex functional, application, and regression testing.
  • 8 years of knowledge of the software development life cycle and software development methodologies.
  • 8 years of experience interpreting requirement documents and updating test documents accordingly.
  • 8 years of experience with analysis, planning, and management reporting functions.
  • 8 years of experience acquiring knowledge of the Customer's business in an assigned area.
  • 8 years of teamwork and interpersonal skills experience.
  • 8 years of experience working with the Customer as needed during the test cycle.
  • 8 years of analytical, problem-solving, team playing, and oral and written communication skills.
  • 8 years of experience working successfully with technical and non-technical groups while managing multiple responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience with the Texas DIR Project Delivery Framework and document templates.
  • 2 years of familiarity with the company's information architecture and information management methodologies.
  • 2 years of familiarity with existing and planned software technology and the global, regional, and local software architecture and infrastructure components.
  • Experience testing healthcare applications.
  • Experience with Katalon software.

Additional Requirements:

  • Candidates may be subject to criminal background checks as authorized by Texas law.
  • Candidates must currently reside in Texas; out-of-state candidates planning to relocate will not be accepted.

Work Location and Schedule:

Location: 701 W. 51st Street, Austin, TX 78751.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding Texas state holidays; work outside normal business hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) may be required with pre-approval.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid
