QA Engineer - Aktiia team

We at Holycode are currently looking for a QA Engineer with strong skills and proven experience to join our Aktiia (Hilo) team here in our Belgrade office.

Aktiia is a venture-backed startup that has developed and brought the world’s first continuous blood pressure monitor to market. Their technology is based on 15 years of research by our founders at the prestigious Swiss research institution, CSEM. Aktiia's solution has been validated through extensive clinical trials and received the CE Mark as a Class IIa medical device giving them access to 43 countries worldwide.

This position is offered as a maternity leave cover with the possibility of extension based on performance and company needs.

Responsibilities:

• Support the full QA lifecycle across mobile applications and backend services.
• Plan, design, and execute smoke, exploratory, and functional testing throughout development cycles.
• Work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks while managing priorities and driving testing activities with minimal supervision.
• Analyze software requirements and technical specifications to create, maintain, and execute comprehensive test cases and test documentation.
• Collaborate with the team on release planning and perform full regression testing for release candidates as outlined in the test plan.
• Work closely with developers, product team, customer support, and regulatory team to ensure product quality and compliance requirements are met.
• Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of automated test frameworks for mobile and backend services.
• Provide clear, timely updates on testing progress, risks, and overall product quality when needed.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of QA testing experience across mobile applications and backend services.
• Ability to work independently while also supporting and guiding team members within the QA team.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, testing tools, and quality assurance processes.
• Proficiency with test case management tools (e.g. Xray); experience with Xray document/template builder is a plus.
• Proficiency with ticket and workflow management tools (e.g. JIRA).
• Strong understanding of API testing tools (e.g. Postman), including creating, managing, and validating API requests.
• Working knowledge of SQL databases (e.g. MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB), with the ability to write and interpret queries.
• Solid understanding of Java and experience working with automated test frameworks; hands-on experience with Appium and/or RestAssured is a plus.
• Experience in testing BLE and basic understanding of firmware are considered a plus.
• Understanding of software development lifecycles in regulated industries and experience with medical device software development is a plus.
• Fluency in English.
