QA Automation Lead
Overview:
Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced and driven QA Automation Lead to join our team and spearhead our Quality Assurance initiatives. The successful candidate will have deep expertise in automation frameworks—including Selenium with C# and MSTest—and will be adept at integrating modern QA practices within CI/CD and cloud environments. This is a leadership role requiring close collaboration with cross-functional teams, mentoring of junior testers, and strategic oversight of QA processes for enterprise applications.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and implementation of comprehensive automation test strategies for web and cloud-based applications.
Architect and build scalable, maintainable test automation frameworks using Selenium with C# and the MSTest framework.
Oversee integration of automated test suites with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines to ensure streamlined deployments and test execution.
Drive adoption and execution of cross-browser and cross-device testing using platforms such as BrowserStack, ensuring application compatibility and reliability.
Lead performance testing efforts, leveraging tools such as JMeter and LoadRunner, and provide expertise in analyzing and optimizing application performance.
Provide mentorship, training, and technical leadership to QA team members, with a strong ability to train and guide new people, fostering career growth and skills enhancement.
Supervise manual and automated API testing (Postman, RestSharp) and data validation in SQL Server and Cosmos DB.
Champion best practices in security, functional, performance, and user acceptance testing.
Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, and development teams in Agile (SAFe) environments, actively participating in PI planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Facilitate cloud testing for applications hosted on Microsoft Azure; support teams with troubleshooting and QA process improvements.
Drive continuous improvement through review and adoption of AI capabilities within QA workflows.
Maintain high standards for test coverage, defect management, quality metrics, and reporting.
Oversee test planning and execution for Salesforce modules (Experience Cloud, B2B Commerce, Sales Cloud) as needed.
Prepare and present QA strategies, results, and quality metrics to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications:
8+ years of experience leading QA Automation efforts in medium to large enterprise projects.
Extensive experience in building automated test suites using Selenium with C# and MSTest.
Proven track record of integrating automated tests within Azure DevOps pipelines.
Strong expertise in cross-browser/device testing platforms, notably BrowserStack.
Proficient in API test automation, data validation, and database testing (SQL Server, Cosmos DB).
Solid knowledge of Agile methodologies, especially SAFe Agile.
Prior experience mentoring and managing QA teams in multi-location/global environments.
Experience leveraging AI capabilities to enhance QA processes is highly desirable.
Experience with Salesforce (Experience Cloud, B2B Commerce, Sales Cloud) is a plus.
Background in performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) is a must.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills—with the ability to present complex concepts, quality metrics, and strategies to executive leadership and development teams.
Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
