QA Automation Engineer

ABOUT THE JOB

This position is part of a new team we're building alongside a client, a major producer and supplier of laboratory analytical instruments.

As a Senior QA Automation Engineer, you will be involved in the development team's development lifecycle and will be responsible for the quality assurance of software development and deployment, with a focus on the creation and implementation of test automation. You will collaborate closely with developers as they write code to ensure requirements are met and quality is maintained, and you will run automated (and manual) tests to guarantee the software generated is suitable for the purpose.

SENIOR QA AUTOMATION ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work as part of cross-functional, passionate agile project teams to ensure quality is driven into the heart of the development process from requirements definition through to delivery
• Designing, developing and supporting frameworks for the test infrastructure and providing automation expertise
• Contributing toward predictable delivery of quality releases
• Design, automate and execute various, testing scenarios.
• Proactively bringing issues and problems to the attention of the team, generating, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions to solve them
• Be meticulous about documentation and maintaining a robust log of all test cases and test result
• Ensure that all tests are executed and give regular feedback to the team lead on the status of quality
• Use appropriate measures and KPIs to validate and report on software quality
• Work closely with the software engineering team, Product Management and Technical Operations as well as business users and Senior Management, as required
• Be a creative thinker who can quickly identify and test for functional ‘edge cases’ outside of expected functionality workflow

SENIOR QA AUTOMATION ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS

• Strong background of working in QA automation;
• Must have Appium and/or Selenium (C#) experience;
• Appium with WinAppDriver for UI testing of WPF windows application;
• Strong scripting skills for test automation, particularly in C#;
• Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) with SpecFlow framework
• Experience mentoring QA staff on quality objectives and testing processes;
• Understanding of coding enterprise applications;
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into the development workflow.
• Thorough understanding of SDLC, specifically automated QA processes in agile development environments;
• Proficient with bug tracking and test management toolsets to support development processes;
• Strong working knowledge of testing fundamentals such as TDD & and BDD;
