Allata is a global consulting and technology services firm founded in 2016, with 350+ employees across the US, India, and Argentina. We partner with some of the world's largest enterprises to move AI from idea to production — building intelligent agents, data foundations, and governance frameworks that scale.

Our teams work at the intersection of strategy, engineering, data, and design, helping clients modernize their technology, unlock data value, and create meaningful digital experiences. At Allata, you'll join an agile, cross-functional team that works closely alongside clients — making a real impact and building lasting partnerships.

Allata is looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join a client product team and play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of a growing technology platform.

This is an opportunity for a QA professional who enjoys working across the full testing lifecycle, combining automation expertise with strong exploratory testing and a product-oriented mindset. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering and product teams in a fast-paced environment where quality is a shared responsibility and continuous improvement is highly valued.

The ideal candidate is curious, hands-on, and comfortable leveraging modern tools—including AI—to work more efficiently while applying sound QA judgment to validate results and make informed decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain end-to-end UI automation for an Angular application using Cypress.
  • Develop and maintain automated API and contract tests for Spring Boot REST services and SQS/SNS event flows.
  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines, keeping tests fast, reliable, and maintainable.
  • Translate Jira acceptance criteria and Figma designs into comprehensive test plans and scenarios.
  • Perform exploratory, regression, and functional testing across QA and UAT environments.
  • Identify, document, and communicate defects with clear reproduction steps, expected vs. actual results, and relevant evidence.
  • Partner with developers and product stakeholders to drive effective defect triage and resolution.
  • Continuously assess automation coverage and identify opportunities to improve test reliability, speed, and effectiveness.
  • Use AI tools to generate test cases, scaffold automation, analyze failures, and expand coverage, while critically validating AI-generated output.
  • Contribute to improving QA processes, testing standards, and release quality across the product.

Hard Skills:

  • Experience in QA, including 2+ years focused on test automation.
  • Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Cypress or Playwright.
  • Experience with API testing using tools such as REST Assured, Postman/Newman, Karate, or similar.
  • Comfortable reading and understanding Java/Spring Boot code to support effective API and backend testing.
  • Experience testing REST APIs and event-driven architectures, ideally including SQS/SNS.
  • Familiarity with MongoDB queries for test data setup, validation, and verification.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience using AI assistants in a software testing workflow, with a practical understanding of where they add value and where their output can be misleading.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with performance testing tools such as k6 or Gatling.
  • Experience with accessibility testing.
  • Experience testing feature-flagged releases and gradual rollouts.
  • Experience working with complex SaaS or consumer-facing products.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a risk-based approach to testing.
  • High attention to detail while maintaining awareness of business and user impact.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of release quality.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with developers and product stakeholders.
  • Curious and proactive about improving testing practices, tools, and automation coverage.
  • Comfortable challenging assumptions and asking questions when requirements or acceptance criteria are unclear.
  • Pragmatic approach to automation, with a clear understanding of what should be automated versus what is better suited for exploratory testing.
  • Fluent English.
