JOB DESCRIPTION
Flexjet is currently seeking a QA Automation Engineer. The QA Automation Engineer analyzes the functionality of applications and designs automated tests to validate their performance and reliability. Completes development, execution, and documentation of test plans and scripts. Assists non-QA resources in the planning and execution of user acceptance testing.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain, design, and implement test automation frameworks for a continuous integration and execution model.
- Create and design the testing approach (Unit, Functional, Integration, System, User).
- Create automation tests by analyzing user stories, acceptance criteria, creating initial test designs, writing scripts, installing the automation testing tools, and reporting results.
- Develop a repeatable process for designing, developing, and executing scripts.
- Conduct tests, document, and analyze test results, and present findings to development teams.
- Preparing reports on all aspects related to software testing.
- Participating in project meetings including Agile/Scrum grooming, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and daily stand-ups.
- Collaborate within an agile software development process with software engineers, subject matter experts and stakeholders.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Understanding and knowledge of software engineering concepts and methodologies.
- Understanding of test cases and negative, positive and regression testing.
- Understanding of automation testing and experience writing automation tests for REST APIs and UI.
- Experience with writing automation tests using one or more of the following: Postman, Playwright, SpecFlow, Cypress, Selenium, Appium, ect.
- Extremely proficient in one or more development languages (i.e. C#, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, etc.).
- Knowledge of industry best practices for manual, automation and performance testing.
- Experience with deployments and CI/CD practices.
- Experience gathering, refining, and validating business/technical requirements, interdependencies, cross-functional dependencies & risks/issues.
- Knowledge of application functions, bug fixing, and testing practices.
- Experience with system/platform integrations and the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Shows initiative and is motivated to learn.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written); ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people.
