We're hiring a Data QA Automation Engineer to join our Data Products team. This role offers the opportunity to join a rapidly growing company delivering industry-leading solutions to customers in the world's most dynamic and fastest-growing sector. This role would be perfect for someone who likes to decipher complicated data structures while innovating solutions to automate the testing approach.
What You Will Do:
- Validate the latest changes to data sets based on acceptance criteria from Product Owners and Development SMEs.
- Eager to learn new skills and grow professionally
- Ability to think outside the box, question conventional approaches, and innovate
- Log issues when software does not function as expected
- Review and evaluate existing manual test cases as candidates for automation and automate them in a timely manner
- Create and modify automated test cases for software products, with guidance from more senior team members
- Review feature requirements and provide feedback to the team
- Completes well-defined tasks in a reasonable timeframe
- Seek out the information needed to understand the "why" of a particular task
- Write maintainable, efficient code for automated tests
- Works with team to resolve identified issues
Additional:
- Learns quickly from mistakes
- Follows stated best practices for the team without excessive oversight
- Work as part of a cross-functional team(dev, QA, product, data science, SRE)
- Know when to ask for help when they are blocked
- Complete well-defined tasks in a high-quality manner.
- Able to work independently
- May be involved with interviewing other QA candidates
What You Should Have:
- Experience with testing RDBMS
- Solid SQL experience
- Familiar with Python experience
- Experience testing REST API
- Experience with AWS (s3) and/or other cloud service providers
- Experience with Agile methodologies
- Ability to investigate, debug, and triage difficult problems and independently work towards results
- Professionalism includes mature written and verbal communication and time management skills.
- Databricks experience is a plus
- Experience with Azure Data Lake is a plus
