Job SummaryThe Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst writes test plans and scripts, performs test execution, and tracks defects using the defined QA tools, processes, and methodology. The Senior QA Analyst applies proven analytical and problem-solving skills to validate processes and to handle complex issues and problems in order to maximize product quality and value delivery across products, projects, or sets of services.

Adhere to established Patterson QA standards for Quality Assurance Process and Methodology
Collaborate with team members, including Software Engineers and Product Owners, regarding feature design
Analyze design documents to create test plan documentation that can be reviewed and utilized by other Quality Analysts
Create and execute test plans and scripts that will determine optimal application performance according to specifications
Ensure that testing activities allow applications to meet or exceed business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify existing or potential issues
Collaborate with software/systems personnel in application testing, such as but not limited to system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing methods
Test any new software to ensure integration into company systems meets functional and non-functional requirements, system compliance, and technical specifications
Review software requirements and test cases to ensure complete test coverage
Perform issue tracking, reporting and resolution of issues found during testing
Define and track quality assurance metrics
Collect and analyze data for software process evaluation and improvements and integrate them into business processes to address the needs of the business
Provide regular status as directed throughout the release cycle to appropriate leadership and development team members
For regulated products, follows regulatory requirements for software development/testing and provide needed documentation
Mentor QA analyst peers through technical advice and reference
Provide and may lead support for escalated incident tickets to resolve application and software issues
Identifies areas to improve product quality through recommending new technology, tools, industry best practices, and processes
Additional functions
In addition to the essential functions listed above, the incumbent may perform the following additional functions.
Provide feedback on quality assurance standards as needed
Participate in regulatory and compliance activities
Required Qualifications
Associate degree with emphasis on Computer Science, IT or related QA field or equivalent software experience
5+ years’ experience in quality assurance and testing applications
Strong knowledge of QA best practices, methodologies, tools, and processes
Experience with desktop, web, cloud, and mobile applications
Ability to conduct research into software-related issues and products
Hands-on experience with SQL scripting, ad hoc query programs, automated testing tools, and statistical reporting
Experience with application lifecycle management tools such as Azure DevOps
Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail and ability to prioritize
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment that is team-oriented and collaborative
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on Computer Science, IT or related QA field or equivalent software experience
Experience with working on regulated software products
Knowledge and experience in testing automation
Knowledge of Patterson products and offerings
Environmental Factors
Office environment – either in Patterson facility or at home/remote location.
Travel and On-call
Travel to customer, vendor and corporate sites is periodically required (less than 10%)
On call rotations and available outside of normal business hours on evenings and weekends during critical production release or issue escalation periods
