Job Description

Ingram Marine Group is looking for a QA Analyst to join our team. This role independently performs software quality assurance activities for application development projects, system enhancements, integrations, and production releases. This position develops and executes comprehensive testing, manages defects, identifies quality risks, and contributes to test automation efforts that improve coverage, efficiency, repeatability, and release confidence. The role collaborates with Business Analysts, Application Developers, Product Owners, Project Managers, and business stakeholders to verify that technology solutions meet business and technical requirements. The role would encompass the below responsibilities.

• Independently plan and execute functional, integration, system, regression, user acceptance, API, performance, and post-deployment testing as appropriate. 

• Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, test scripts, test data, expected results, traceability, and supporting QA documentation. 

• Analyze business requirements, technical specifications, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria for clarity, completeness, and testability. 

• Identify, document, prioritize, track, and communicate software defects, testing issues, dependencies, and quality risks. 

• Participate in or facilitate defect triage and collaborate with technical and business resources to support timely resolution. 

• Coordinate test environments, test data, schedules, dependencies, and business participation for assigned efforts. 

• Communicate testing status, results, unresolved defects, risks, and release-readiness observations to project stakeholders. 

• Support release validation, production implementation, and post-deployment verification activities. 

• Apply and promote established QA standards, processes, procedures, documentation templates, and best practices. 

• Identify functional, integration, regression, API, and other repeatable tests that are appropriate candidates for automation. 

• Design, implement, execute, and maintain automated tests using approved tools, frameworks, and standards. 

• Partner with Application Developers and other technology resources to troubleshoot automated test failures and improve automation reliability and coverage. 

• Incorporate automated tests into application delivery and continuous integration processes where appropriate. 

• Monitor defect trends and testing results to identify opportunities for process and quality improvement. 

• Participate in root-cause analysis of production defects and recommend preventive or corrective actions. 

• Provide guidance and knowledge transfer to less experienced QA resources when requested. 

• Serve as a knowledgeable QA resource for assigned applications, projects, or business processes. 

Qualifications

Degree Required: 

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Business, or a related field. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered. 

Years of Experience Required: 

Three or more years of progressive experience in software quality assurance, software testing, business application testing, or a related technology role. 

Certification Required: 

Quality assurance, software testing, Agile, or test automation certifications are preferred but not required. 

• Solid knowledge of software quality assurance principles, testing methodologies, processes, and best practices. 

• Proficiency developing and executing test plans, test cases, test scripts, test data, traceability documentation, and testing reports. 

• Experience performing functional, integration, system, regression, user acceptance, API, performance, and post-deployment testing as appropriate. 

• Experience identifying automation candidates and developing, executing, and maintaining automated tests. 

• Knowledge of automated testing tools, frameworks, scripting approaches, and continuous integration practices. 

• Experience with defect tracking, test management, work management, and software development collaboration tools. 

• Ability to analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios. 

• Ability to identify quality risks, dependencies, coverage gaps, and process improvement opportunities. 

• Working knowledge of relational databases and queries used for data validation and testing. 

• Working knowledge of application integrations, APIs, batch processes, interfaces, and data flows. 

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, critical-thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 

• Ability to independently manage multiple assignments, priorities, and deadlines. 

• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, documentation, and collaboration skills. 

• Ability to communicate defects, risks, status, and recommendations to technical and business audiences.

  • • Standard office environment with the ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods. 

    • Regular use of computers, software applications, testing tools, communication platforms, and other office technology. 

    • May require extended or nonstandard working hours to support significant application releases, production implementations, or critical issue resolution. 

    • May require coordination with technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, or resources working in different locations or schedules. 

    • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a collaborative, deadline-oriented environment.
