Position Summary:
Smartbridge is seeking a skilled Python/Django Developer/Consultant with strong expertise in Azure cloud services to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about developing robust web applications and APIs while also leveraging consulting expertise to interact directly with clients. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions that meet client requirements in industries like energy, food and beverage, life science, and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:

Technical Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain web applications and APIs using Python and Django frameworks.
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and performance.
- Integrate data storage solutions such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL databases.
- Implement secure coding practices and perform unit testing to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Azure Expertise:
- Utilize Azure services such as Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure DevOps, and Azure SQL Database to develop and deploy applications.
- Leverage Azure API Management for secure and scalable API delivery.
- Use Azure Blob Storage and other data services for application data handling.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize applications hosted on Azure.

Consulting:
- Collaborate with clients to gather requirements, understand their business needs, and provide expert recommendations.
- Act as a technical advisor during project discussions and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Deliver documentation and presentations tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with UI/UX designers, DevOps engineers, and other developers to create seamless solutions.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.

Support & Maintenance:
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
- Provide ongoing support for deployed applications.
Technical Skills:

Core Expertise:
- Proficiency in Python and Django frameworks.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Experience with front-end technologies like JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and frameworks like React or Angular (optional but preferred).
- Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes (on Azure Kubernetes Service).

Azure Cloud Expertise:
- Proficiency in Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure API Management, and Azure SQL Database.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines and version control.
- Experience with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics for application performance monitoring.

Database Management:
- Proficiency in working with relational databases like PostgreSQL or Azure SQL Database.
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB is a plus.

Testing:
- Experience in unit testing and frameworks like PyTest or Unittest.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically in high-pressure situations.
- A client-centric mindset with a focus on delivering value and fostering long-term relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented with a willingness to mentor junior developers when needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in Python/Django development.
- Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services is mandatory.
- Prior consulting experience is a significant advantage.
- Certifications in Python, Django, or Azure (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate) are a plus.
