Python Software Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and motivated software engineer with strong Python development experience and a passion for cloud-native technologies. You will be part of a dynamic team building an automation tool that created virtual machines for customized ISOs, using Proxmox. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in fast-paced agile environments, collaborating across remote teams, and contributing to both backend systems and web-based interfaces.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Develop high performance cloud and container technologies mostly leveraging Python as the main programming language;
• Develop and deliver high quality solutions and code;
• Develop automated tests, improving the SDLC;
• Investigate and resolve issues reported during testing and customer integration;
• Actively participate in all aspects of an agile software development process;
• Work as part of a team focused on containerization, virtualization, VM management and fault tolerant/carrier grade development;
• Contribute to open-source projects and internal tooling related to orchestration and cloud infrastructure;
• Develop RESTful APIs.

Essential Skills

• Strong experience in Python development, including object-oriented programming and scripting.
• Solid understanding of Linux Essentials:
  • Hardware, processes, programs, and OS components;
  • Command-line operations and file management;
  • Creating/restoring compressed backups and archives;
  • User/group management and file permissions;
  • Writing and executing simple shell scripts.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes:
  • Cluster administration (setup, configuration, monitoring);
  • Application development and deployment in Kubernetes environments.
• Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, Linux Containers);
• Basic computer networking knowledge (HTTP/HTTPS);
• Experience working in agile teams and using tools like Jira, Bitbucket, and Git;
• Interested in working on developing and troubleshooting of a highly distributed orchestration platform supporting multiple vendors.

Highly Desirable Skills

• Experience working with code review with Gerrit;
• Knowledge of Helm for Kubernetes package management;
• Exposure to virtualization and VM management with Proxmox;
• Experience with web applications using NextJS (React and NodeJS).
