Python Engineer (VP), Mexico City

About this role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work collaboratively with investment and technology teams to build scalable, high-impact tools and services that enhance research efficiency and enable data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of hands-on technical expertise, particularly with cloud services and collaborative development. Strong cross-functional communication skills and leadership experience are important.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and optimize scalable platform applications that support data-driven decision-making and research processes
• Lead and mentor engineers, promoting a collaborative and innovation-focused culture
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to drive adoption, understand needs, and enhance platform capabilities
• Explore and integrate emerging technologies, such as AI, into our applications to unlock new capabilities
• Prioritize maintainability, scalability, and observability across the platform

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field; advanced certifications in AI or cloud technologies are a plus
• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in technology roles with a focus on data engineering, software engineering, or applied AI applications; experience in financial services is a plus
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python and SQL, with hands-on experience with cloud technologies and cloud-native architecture (Google Cloud preferred). Familiarity with various technologies across the technical stack is advantageous.
• Leadership: Experience leading or mentoring engineers and fostering collaborative development
• AI Enthusiasm: Demonstrated interest in or experience with Generative AI
• Problem-solving: Strong analytics and problem-solving skills with flexibility to adapt to new technologies
• Language Skills: Proficiency in English required
