Job Summary
The Pusher Axle Design Engineer is responsible for the design, development, integration, and validation of pusher axle systems in multi‑axle commercial vehicles. The role focuses on load optimization, regulatory compliance, durability, and integration with suspension, braking & Control team ensuring vehicle performance, cost, and manufacturability targets are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and select pusher axle configuration (liftable, steerable, driven or non‑driven) based on Load distribution and axle load optimization based on
- GVW / GAWR requirements
- Load distribution and axle load optimization
- Regulatory and homologation requirements
- Ride air spring and Lift air spring selection
- Pneumatic Architecture
- Pusher axle housing and mount brackets design
- Lift and steering mechanisms (hydraulic / mechanical)
- Axle beam, hubs, spindles, and interfaces design
- Integration of Load sensing Valve, Lift axle Control Valve.
- Intergradation lift and push logic based on vehicle requirement.
- GVW / GAWR requirements
- Create 3D CAD models and detailed drawings with GD&T
- Perform packaging and kinematic studies with chassis and suspension teams
- Ensure Design for Assembly & Design for Manufacturing
- Performing DFMEA and DVP preparation.
- Investigate field issues and implement design countermeasures
Cross Functional Requirement
- CAE: Define load cases and support strength, fatigue, and durability analysis
- Testing: Support prototype build, bench testing, and vehicle‑level validation
- Investigate field issues and implement design countermeasures

Proficiency in CAD tools:

QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering
