The Opportunity: We're seeking a strategic and experienced Strategic Sourcing Manager to oversee all aspects of procurement for raw materials, components, and services required for our durable goods manufacturing. You'll develop strategic sourcing plans, manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely material delivery while optimizing costs and maintaining quality. This role involves leading a team and collaborating with production, engineering, and finance.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing:
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to optimize material costs, quality, and delivery performance.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conduct market research, and analyze industry trends.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive supplier database.
- Proactively lead and organize all future orders and inventory working cross-functionally with Warehouse and Operation teams.
- Supplier Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular supplier evaluations.
- Resolve supplier issues and disputes effectively.
- Procurement Operations:
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from purchase requisition to invoice payment.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of purchase orders.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate material availability to support production schedules.
- Implement and maintain purchasing policies and procedures.
- Monitor and mitigate supply chain risk.
- Cost Control and Optimization:
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Analyze material costs and identify opportunities for price reductions.
- Negotiate favorable payment terms and discounts.
- Manage and control the purchasing budget.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of purchasing professionals.
- Set performance goals and provide regular feedback.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
- Prepare and present regular reports on purchasing performance, cost savings, and supplier performance.
