What You'll Do

We are looking for a Publishing Director to be part of our growing International Publishing team based in Japan. In this role you will be at the forefront of building out and executing strategy to power the international growth of our biggest IP’s in one of the most innovative and vibrant gaming markets in the world. Epic Games has historically had a very strong relationship with gamers in Japan and we are looking for a leader to craft and execute a strategy to further scale the presence of Epic Games in the Japan market.

In this role, you will

  • Collaborate closely with Epic HQ and our international publishing teams in Latam, EMEA and APAC in supporting our publishing operations
  • Develop and execute a Japan Specific growth strategy to drive engagement of Epic Games 1st party titles, and build out unified process and data structures for monitoring of it
  • Partner closely with our key stakeholders across Epic and external parties in supporting publishing operations for the Fortnite Ecosystem, Rocket League and Fall Guys to ensure we deliver authentic experiences to Japanese players, and to build out our International Expansion strategy for them
  • Support our International Agency Partnerships in diverse International Markets
  • Assist with the budget management and optimization for our international marketing and operations
  • Consolidate and evangelize the most impactful trends in gaming for the Japanese market
  • Undertake project management for some of our key growth initiatives

What we're looking for

  • Passion for video games and an excellent understanding emergent gaming trends
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial working style
  • Strong strategic skills with experience in working as part of a diverse and distributed team
  • Possess a deep understanding of the f2p PC/Mobile game metrics, ecosystem and industry trends
  • Great at tracking KPIs across multiple markets and have strong experience in building out process
  • Knowledge about trends of Japanese consumers behavior in various verticals, such as gaming, entertainment, influencers, etc.
  • Superior influential communication skills, coupled with the ability to develop deep, trust-based relationships
  • Passion for figuring out how game markets work and change operate and evolve
  • Someone who excels in strategic vision, organization, exceptional communication abilities, strong analytical skills, can work with a multicultural team and who are comfortable managing schedules of complex projects
  • Fluent in both Japanese and English languages
