Leadership:

  • Provide solid leadership of the organization with an eye for opportunities within a highly competitive business environment.
  • Set and execute a concise and effective local strategic plan.
  • Lead management efforts that include strong communication of, and adherence to, ACBJ initiatives, local purpose and vision.
  • Own and lead local business news and B2B community events.

 

Employee Management & Development:

  • Attract, retain and motivate top talent.
  • Create a working environment that embraces change and empowers and encourages innovation. 
  • Encourage and create opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
  • Manage managers and employees to ensure adherence to ACBJ policies.

 

Products, Events & Content:

  • Develop and enhance digital products to grow revenue and strengthen the marketplace presence.
  • Develop business-driven, multi-platform, high-quality editorial products that grow audience and engagement.
  • Produce original and exciting events to expand the brand and reach of the OBJ.
  • Ensure audience development and subscriber retention strategies are active and aligned with ACBJ and OBJ priorities.
  • Build sustainable value propositions for subscriptions and advertising revenue.
  • Build strategic partnerships that improve the s OBJ's position in the community and drive results.

Profit – Managing for Results

  • Ensure the achievement of financial objectives, including revenue, expense and operating profit.
  • Develop and maintain reporting systems to ensure timely and accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Meet or exceed yearly and monthly revenue, profit, audience, event and readership goals.
  • Manage a strategic planning process to achieve revenue and profit budgets by product type, while also developing new revenue opportunities.
  • Develop an annual expense budget; consistently finish each month at, or under, budget.
Preferred Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

  • 5+ years with demonstrated success in a top leadership role.
  • Digital media sales experience preferred.
  • A strong track record of consistent revenue growth.
  • An understanding of the changing media landscape and ability to develop strategies to address market and consumer change.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • The ability to exceed expectations in a results-oriented environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • BA/BS degree preferred.
  • Experience in MS Office, Excel and SalesForce.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

General office environment most days expected.  Extensive computer use required. Some travel required. Ability to work flexible work schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays.
