If you are passionate about making a difference and have the skills to lead in this dynamic environment, we invite you to join our team.

Overview

The Publicist serves as the primary voice of Pacific Health Group to the public—crafting, distributing, and managing all external communications, media relationships, and brand messaging. This role is pivotal in increasing public awareness of our mission, shaping our reputation, and ensuring that our programs, services, and successes are well represented in the media. The Publicist will oversee press releases, manage media inquiries, develop storytelling content, coordinate interviews, and foster strong relationships with journalists, influencers, and community leaders.

Key Responsibilities

Media Relations & Publicity

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, bloggers, and industry influencers.

Brand & Message Development

  • Ensure all public communications align with Pacific Health Group’s mission, values, and brand voice.
  • Develop compelling narratives and human-interest stories that highlight the impact of our services.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify newsworthy initiatives, program milestones, and community impact stories.

Event Promotion & Coverage

  • Partner with program and outreach teams to promote events, community health fairs, and press conferences.
  • Coordinate media attendance and arrange on-site coverage.
  • Oversee photography, videography, and live social media updates during key events.

Digital & Social Media Support

  • Work with the communications team to amplify press coverage across social platforms.
  • Monitor media mentions and online conversations related to Pacific Health Group.
  • Develop shareable content that reflects current campaigns and public health initiatives.

Departmental Communication

  • Assist in developing and implementing departmental communication strategies.
  • Prepare holding statements, FAQs, and media briefings to ensure consistent messaging during high-profile situations.
Example Scenarios

Scenario 1: High-Impact Press Release
You coordinate with program leads to announce the launch of a new behavioral health initiative. You draft a press release featuring patient success stories, secure quotes from leadership, and pitch the story to local news, resulting in coverage across TV, print, and online platforms.

Scenario 2: Media Event Coordination
You plan a press conference highlighting the outcomes of our Street Outreach program. From media invitations to talking points for speakers, you ensure the event garners positive coverage and reinforces Pacific Health Group’s role in the community.

Scenario 3: Relationship Building with Journalists
You host a breakfast roundtable with health reporters to discuss emerging healthcare needs and Pacific Health Group’s role in addressing them. The connections made lead to multiple feature stories over the next quarter.

Success Measures
  • Growth in earned media coverage quarter over quarter
  • Positive sentiment in media mentions and online discussions
  • Timely responses to media inquiries
  • Increased public awareness of Pacific Health Group’s mission and services
  • Strong, ongoing relationships with key journalists and influencers
