Job Description:
How You Will Make an Impact at Rehmann:
Our Public Sector Solutions professionals are responsible for performing accounting and financial management outsourcing services to our public school districts, municipalities, community mental health authorities, and other governmental entities. Such services may include but are not limited to:
- Maintaining accounting systems including cost allocations and periodic general journal entries
- Creating budgets and financial forecasting/projections
- Supervising client accounting and finance staff, as required
- Internal and external financial reporting including annual closing, analysis and audit assistance
- Assisting with grant management, accounting and reporting
- Participating in internal management meetings including board and related committee meetings
- Building relationships internally to foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration
- Providing a “wow” experience to every client
- Contributing to the success of our clients’ organizations
Your Desired Skills, Values & Experiences:
- 5+ years (or more) relevant audit experience in public accounting or public sector entity
- Understanding of GASB and government fund accounting, client’s business systems and industry requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to self-direct and manage multiple projects / deadlines
- Ability to lead and motivate staff and senior level associates
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Licensed CPA or other certification highly desirable, but not required
- Career oriented, seeking advancement

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Understanding of key ratios and statistics for clients and their industries
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word for correspondence and basic reports
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, tables, exhibits, and appropriate formatting
- Proficiency with Rehmann Engagement and other practice software
- Ability to identify potential issues for further review
- Proactive pursuit of professional development opportunities
