About the Opportunity:
It all starts with you. Acting as the lead communications expert for APAC, you’ll influence how the organization shows up externally, ensuring messaging is clear, consistent, and compelling.
Though your primary focus will be the wider APAC region, your efforts will contribute globally, as part of the broader Public & Analyst Relations team.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead PR campaigns and announcements - Translate global PR/marketing campaigns into relevant communication plans for key APAC countries. Set the strategy, goals, tactics, research and execution for optimal earned media outcomes.
- Media targets - leverage existing contacts and cultivate new relationships with journalists across vertical/trade, tech, business and mainstream media (including podcasts, video, etc.)
- Content creation – help craft positioning/messaging, press releases, pitches, thought leadership/op-ed commentary and briefing materials
- Secure and manage executive speaking opportunities and industry awards that position QNX as a leader in software‑defined vehicles, physical AI, and safety‑critical embedded systems.
- Regularly evaluate the APAC competitive communications landscape and news cycle, and make recommendations that inform strategy, planning and execution
- Produce and adapt content across owned, earned, and shared channels with a digital first mindset.
- Manage external PR agency partners within the region
- Conduct media training for company spokespeople
- Work with Field, Customer Marketing and Sales to identify approved customer proof points, regional success stories, and market-relevant use cases that can support earned media, thought leadership, award submissions, and executive communications.
- Translate and adapt global web, marketing, and PR content for local APAC audiences, ensuring accuracy, cultural relevance, and message consistency across markets.
- Track performance and use insights and analytics to continuously improve content effectiveness and engagement.
What You Bring

- 4 - 6 years of relevant experience, ideally with a focus on automotive and other embedded systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication and storytelling skills, across a breadth of areas, including technology innovation and economic trends
- Strong business acumen and the ability to tie media strategy and narrative to business strategy
- Proven track record of building relationships with media organizations and journalists, and achieving high earned media value
- A high-performance and high-integrity individual, who works well under pressure to be both proactive and reactive
- A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, who can manage multiple priorities and execute with both quality and speed
- The confidence and resilience to advise senior stakeholders and navigate ambiguity in a high‑accountability role.
- Experience operating in complex, global, matrixed organizations.
- Excellent communication and project management skills, ability to handle multiple priorities across stakeholder groups.
- Fluency in English and Chinese strongly preferred along with the ability to work effectively across time zones; additional relevant APAC languages a huge plus.
