PU Americas Project Manager
Huntsman is seeking a Project Manager supporting the Polyurethanes Division located in The Woodlands, Texas. This position will report to the Sr. Program Manager.
In summary, as the PU Americas Project Manager, you will:
- Operate PMO processes, tools, reports and policies.
- Partner with Americas business functions to drive projects until scope completion while ensuring adherence to schedule, cost, and scope.
- Ensure project standards can be widely adopted and delivered through training, including work procedures, resource capacity constraints.
- Ensure all projects abide by all defined standards as well as all compliance/regulatory requirements.
- Help drive the PMO organization as a center of excellence, viewed by the organization as a valuable team for defining the project/program management process, standards, deliverables and operational cadence.
- Track and monitor project statuses, quality, metrics, issues, risks and milestones with escalation as required.
- Assist in the approach for continuous improvement including tools, project KPIs, training, communication, operating rhythms and review cycles.
- Foster a healthy culture around PMO processes.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university.
- 5-10 years of experience in a PMO function, ideally leading business projects.
Skills and Knowledge
- Knowledge of project management systems (MS Project, Planview).
- Proven track record of managing complex, highly technical projects across functions and business lines.
- Well-developed leadership, management, and strategic-thinking skills, with the ability to excite and motivate others in a highly collaborative environment.
- Ability to juggle different projects/priorities and deliver high quality outcomes under pressure.
- Ability to balance structure and flexibility, with a fearlessness to challenge the status quo.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively align and influence the organization around common goals and objectives.
- Strong executive presence and experience dealing with senior business leaders, including presenting to executive leadership.
- Proactively engages with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and design solutions using critical thinking and analytical skills and best practices.
- Influences and energizes others toward a common vision and goal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
- Experience with agile, lean, and waterfall methodologies.
- Experience with strategy development and execution
