Overview:
Warm Hearth at Home is looking to expand our Home Health Therapy team. Warm Hearth Village is a non-profit community of seniors that has been serving Blacksburg and the surrounding New River Valley for over 50 years. Our mission is to foster a person-centered approach to aging in an inclusive environment that redefines retirement, and to nurture a transformative culture where people live and work in community, knowing their contributions are essential to our success.
We are currently hiring a regular PRN Physical Therapist Assistant. Our Home Health agency is staffed fully in-house with a small, tight-knit administrative staff and HR department. We have experienced steady growth over the past two years with plans of continued expansion to increase our capacity to serve the community.
Pay: Hourly - $35-$40/hour depending on experience, and $0.65/mile mileage reimbursement
Office Location: Christiansburg, VA
Coverage Area: Counties of Montgomery, Giles, Floyd, Pulaski and surrounding areas
Schedule: Regular PRN (10-20 Hours/week)
Responsibilities:
As a Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant, You will:
Administer physical therapy interventions as directed by the POC established by the evaluating therapist in a patient centered, evidenced based approach
Maintain clear and effective communication regarding patient care with support staff, physicians, evaluating therapists, and family members to ensure efficient care
Complete documentation timely, accurately, and completely
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program
Current and valid state license to practice as a PTA in Virginia
Drivers license and proof of auto insurance
Experience in home health setting is preferred
Up to Date CPR/BLS credentials, or willingness to promptly renew upon hire
Ability and confidence to recognize red flags and/or medical emergencies in the home, and how to effectively triage
Skills Required
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program
- Current and valid Virginia state license to practice as a physical therapist assistant
- Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance
- Current CPR/BLS credentials or willingness to renew promptly after hire
- Home health experience

Founded by Dutch immigrants Wybe and Marietje Kroontje as an expression of gratitude to America, it offers active adult living, independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled and long-term nursing care, plus home health, home care and hospice services.
