Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Department Chair, tests, cleans, and performs routine maintenance on Energy laboratory equipment and assists with setup and breakdown of class and lab demonstrations. Assists instructors in the preparation of instructional materials and in the implementation of learning activities. Assists instructors in the monitoring of student activities and progress with course assignments in the lab. Monitors the use of all laboratory equipment to ensure proper use. Complies with all system, college, state, and federal rules and regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintain clean and safe facilities which includes organizing materials/supplies and tool room inventory
- Perform clerical duties in support of the department
- Operate laboratory equipment and apparatus requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination
- May assist students in a lab/classroom setting
- Must be able to verbally communicate to exchange information
- May require the use of personal protective equipment
- Other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of shop tools and equipment
- Knowledge of proper use of tools used in oil and gas industry
- Knowledge of safety precautions pertaining to the maintenance of tools and equipment
- Knowledge of methods and procedures of inventory control
- General office computer system operation knowledge
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in a related field with one year of Co-ops/Internships that include hands-on lab experience in oil and gas environment
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Typical office
- Business Hours
- M-Th 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. F 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- summer M-Th 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 pm
- Periodic evening and weekend hours during peak periods (e.g., open enrollment, payroll)
- Occasional travel (less than 10%)
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to work in a laboratory setting
- Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight
- Use of manual dexterity
- Must have vision in the normal visual range with or without correction
- Must be able to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction
Salary Range: $11.50 - $16.25 per hour
