Description

Reporting to the Behavioral Health Director, the Psychologist will provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy to patients across the lifespan, tailoring interventions to meet the developmental and cultural needs of each client. This role involves conducting comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations, focusing on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), utilizing standardized tools such as the ADOS-2, WISC-V, and BASC-3. The Psychologist will prepare thorough, timely psychological reports that include diagnostic impressions and evidence-based treatment recommendations. This position requires close collaboration with primary care providers, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.   • Conduct psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations, particularly for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), using standardized assessment tools (e.g., ADOS-2, WISC-V, BASC-3).
  • Prepare thorough and timely psychological reports, including diagnostic impressions and clear, actionable treatment recommendations.
  • Collaborate closely with primary care providers, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic, patient-centered care.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case consultations and treatment planning meetings, sharing insights and contributing to collaborative decision-making.
  • Provide psychoeducation and community-based outreach to enhance public understanding of mental health issues, particularly ASD and ADHD.
  • Ensure accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system to support billing, data collection, and regulatory compliance.
  • Adhere to all clinical and regulatory standards, including HIPAA regulations, ensuring patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Engage in culturally competent practices, offering services in both English and Spanish to meet the needs of a diverse patient population.
  • Offer crisis intervention when needed and ensure that appropriate referrals are made for patients requiring higher levels of care.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current trends, research, and best practices in psychology and behavioral health.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with clinical skills and licensure requirements.
  • Consult with Behavioral Health Director and other leaders in the organization to provide input into program development, policy implementation, and service delivery improvements.
  • Follow all relevant federal and state regulations, as well as organizational policies, to ensure compliance in all aspects of patient care.
  • Assist with the training of new staff and the ongoing development of existing team members as part of a supportive, collaborative work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the executive leadership and administration.

Requirements

Education, Certification, and Experience Requirements

  • Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology or a related field from a regionally accredited program (APA-accredited program preferred).
  • Current and valid license as a Psychologist in the state of California.
  • Experience in psychological testing and diagnosis for Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD, including the use of standardized instruments.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience working with diverse populations in a community-based or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Comfort and competence working with patients across the lifespan—including children, adolescents, adults, and older adults.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience working in an FQHC or underserved community setting a plus.

Language Requirements

  • Spanish speaking required.

Skills Required

  • Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology or related field
  • Current and valid California psychologist license
  • Experience in psychological testing and diagnosis for ASD and ADHD, including use of standardized instruments (ADOS-2, WISC-V, BASC-3)
  • Spanish speaking

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience working in an FQHC or underserved community setting
