Position Summary: 

The Psychologist at the Juvenile Justice Center in Chatsworth, NJ is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals experiencing mental health, emotional, and behavioral disorders. This role involves providing therapeutic interventions, conducting psychological evaluations, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support patient well-being and treatment outcomes.  Must have sex offender experience with juveniles.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct psychological assessments, evaluations, and diagnostic testing 
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans 
  • Provide individual, group, and/or family therapy 
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed 
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards 
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals 
  • Provide crisis intervention and support when necessary 
  • Educate clients and families on mental health conditions and coping strategies 
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards, confidentiality laws, and organizational policies 
  • Other duties as assigned.  

Certifications/Licenses: 

  • Active Psychologist license in the state of employment 
  • CPR/First Aid certification (if required by employer) 

Work Environment: 

  • Clinical, hospital, outpatient, or private practice setting 
  • May involve working with diverse populations including children, adults, and families 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to sit for extended periods 
  • Occasional standing, walking, and light lifting as needed

  • Completes required orientation as directed by the facility 
  • Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment 
  • Follows facility and CFG Health Systems Occurrence Protocol 
  • Upholds HIPAA and PREA regulations 
  • Punctual and dependable for assigned/confirmed shifts 
  • Maintains security clearance for the assigned facility

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

  •     Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Psychology from an accredited institution 
  •     Current state licensure as a Psychologist 
  •     Experience in clinical, counseling, or related psychology setting preferred 
  •     Knowledge of psychological testing and assessment tools 
  •     Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills 

Skills Required
