IMPORTANT DETAILS:
This is a contract position
Examinations are needed in our Farmingville Mental Health Outpatient Treatment and Rehabilitation Program, Yaphank Correctional Facility and Riverhead Correctional Facility
The role allows for flexibility for when examinations are conducted. They can be conducted Monday and Friday between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Tuesday through Thursday between 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at our Farmingville Mental Health Outpatient Treatment and Rehabilitation Program. Monday - Sunday between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at our Yaphank and Riverhead Correctional Facilities.
KEY ELEMENTS OF THE ROLE:
Court mandated clinical assessments, including competency exams (also referred to as 730 exams) and presentencing investigations/mental health evaluations (also referred to as 390.30 exams).
Hourly Salary: $150/HR

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Incumbent must possess a license to practice psychology in the State of New York.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Incumbent must maintain a current New York State license to practice psychology throughout their employment in this contract.

Thorough knowledge of modern psychological tests and measurements;
Thorough knowledge of personality development and of the factors which contribute to mental, emotional and social maladjustments and deficiencies;
Good knowledge of educational disabilities and methods of remedial instruction;
Good knowledge of social case work;
Ability to exercise sound judgment in appraising situations and making decisions;
Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing;
