The approach at our treatment centers is firmly rooted in individualized, person-centered care to help clients uncover the why behind their disorders and help them build foundational relationships that help answer the how in moving forward
Position Summary
This position’s responsibilities include ensuring the health and safety of all clients as well as assessing and prescribing appropriate medication regimes. This position also assesses medical and psychiatric issues and concerns then address or make appropriate referrals. This position also approves potential admissions based on medical and psychiatric requirements. This position is responsible for consulting with the treatment team on primary diagnosis and co-occurring issues.
Relationships and Contacts
Within the organization: Establish and maintain productive working relationships with peers and accounting team members throughout STR Behavioral Health and affiliated facilities.
Outside the organization: Establish and maintain productive working relationships with third party vendors, as necessary.
Position Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities
- Maintaining a safe and secure environment
- Help Clients by providing information, services, and assistance
- Routine checkups and psychiatric evaluations of clients
- Conducting follow up and evaluation of client physical and psychiatric conditions.
- Prescribe medications as necessary
- Document clinical, medical, and psychiatric treatments and recommendations
- Oversee and collaborate with Clinicians on client’s treatment plans
- Participate in Clinical Treatment team meetings 2x a month
- Pre-screen clients by reviewing psych and medical records for admission
- Minimum of two hours a week, depending on current census
Additional Responsibilities
- Functions within the guidelines of the facility’s Code of Ethics and in accordance with corporate compliance.
- Represents the program within the community at local, regional, and national events, as requested.
- Assists in promoting and ensuring the organization’s values, mission, goals, and objectives are understood and actively supported by the employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience
This position requires at least 3 years of residency in psychiatry. Active calid licensed practitioner in the state of Pennsylvania. Willingness to work with a clinical to make recommendations and implement strategies that will benefit clients. Willingness to take calls during after hour day and times. Additionally, complete other tasks and duties appropriate to the position and/ or as assigned. PHI Access in Medical
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to communicate with peers, clients, families’ other facilities and/or vendors.
- Tolerant to various noise levels: noise level in the work environment varies – may be very quiet to moderate.
- Performs duties that require the employee to sit or remain stationary for extended periods of time.
- Job performance will require the ability to move throughout the building and may require walking around facility grounds.
- While performing duties may be required to sit stationary for long periods of time.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to talk or hear, sit, stand, walk, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste, or smell.
- Ability to move up to 25 pounds.
Additional Requirements
- Position requires incumbent to have a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance and acceptable driving record.
- Clearance of TB test, and any other mandatory state/federal requirements.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.

Skills Required
- Completion of psychiatry residency (minimum 3 years)
- Active valid medical license to practice in Pennsylvania
- Willingness to collaborate with clinical staff and implement treatment strategies
- Availability for after-hours/on-call duties
