Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a Provider Support Access Specialist to join our team at the Orthopedics office!
This is a Full time, benefits eligible position
Position Summary:
Responsible for the patient experience as it relates to the administrative process, from start to finish. Point of contact for internal team members, external vendors/organizations, and patients. This position will play a key role in streamlining workflow to ensure efficient scheduling for:

Ensures excellent patient experience, maximize reimbursement, minimize time from referral to procedure, and aid in positive outcomes.
Education and Experience:
-
High School graduate or equivalent.

Associate Degree preferred Minimum of two years relevant experience, including knowledge of scheduling, registration, patient billing, and medical terminology required.

Minimum of three years’ experience as surgery scheduler preferred.

Demonstrates proficiency with data entry/keyboarding.
Essential Duties:
-
Supports the patient and clinical team from all aspects of the administrative duties of a patient’s appointments.

Accountable for scheduling and ensuring necessary paperwork is completed in accordance to the needs of the team. This will include but is not limited to the provider’s schedules, arranging testing, booking procedures, ensuring communication with key stakeholders, and follow-up appointments.

Maintains effective working relations with departments to ensure timely scheduling of testing and procedures. Communicates with provider groups proactively to resolve booking conflicts.

Processes prior authorizations for procedures and any testing that requires authorization.

Responsible for claim reconciliation if prompted by the revenue integrity team.

Maintains excel tracking spreadsheet to ensure regulatory compliance and monitor patient volume.

Performs clerical duties such as answering and directing phone calls, monitoring incoming mail, and replying to emails.

Performs general administrative support tasks based on the needs of the department and team members to ensure organizational sustainability.

Verifies patient insurance benefits and collaborates with the patient to ensure benefits are correctly entered into Electronic Health Record (EHR).

Collaborates with patient and external organizations to ensure external records are obtained prior to appointment.

Uploads vendor studies to ensure streamlined process from testing to procedure.

Ability to multitask and maintain EHR communication pool to ensure timely response to various patient and team member needs.
