About the role The Provider Relations Specialist is responsible for management of and relations with Medicare, Medicaid and all other payers with whom Cochlear Americas bills direct for recipient purchases which may include but not limited to; establishing and maintaining good working relationships with payers, ensuring Cochlear is in compliance with payer requirements, management of billing software updates and distribution of associated updates to required stakeholders.Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain current enrollment/contract status and compliance with all current payers, e.g., licensing, re-enrollments, accreditation, and web portal registrations.
  • Work with business partners as necessary to resolve issues that arise with payers, including billing jurisdiction, coding disputes etc.
  • Research provider manuals and billing requirements to ensure guidelines are met and documented accordingly.
  • Regularly communicate with cross functional teams regarding current enrollment/contracting status and/or issues
  • Develop and maintain updates and ongoing maintenance to reimbursement software/billing guides.
  • Ensure that all documentation by state is updated and distributed in a timely manner to both clinics and Cochlear field team members.
  • Follow relevant quality procedures to deliver quality products and services and identify and support the implementation of continuous improvement. Undertake additional quality responsibilities (e.g., audit) when appropriately trained to undertake these responsibilities.
  • Contribute ideas on systems and process methods to improve deliverables.
  • Work safely, complying with all safety procedures, rules, and instructions; and reporting workplace hazards, incidents, or injuries to manager.

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Work Experience
  • 3+ Years of Experience
  • Strong computer skills with experience in various software packages, including Microsoft Suite and web based applications
  • Ability to work and adapt in a fast-paced environment and balance / manage multiple, changing priorities while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong presentation skills, and an ability to adjust communication and messaging to fit the audience
  • Demonstrated strong follow through on commitments and taking responsibility for actions and decisions.
  • Approaches projects collaboratively, seeking varied inputs.
  • Ability to identify solutions and challenge the status quo to deliver creative solutions.

  • Target Salary Range/Rate: $73,000 – $80,000 based upon experience, as well as an annual bonus opportunity of 7.5% of base salary
