The role
We are looking for a prototyping craftsman to support us on the prototyping and assembly of UAV systems. You will play a key role in the construction and assembly of cutting edge UAV prototypes, leveraging your knowledge to interpret technical specifications while utilising a variety of tools to improve the prototype processes and further outcomes. You will be responsible for working closely with our engineering and production teams to ensure each unit meets our high standards of performance and safety.
The day-to-day
- Prototyping and Assembly: Construct and assemble UAV prototypes with precision and attention to detail, interpreting technical drawings and specifications to create functional models
- Component Fabrication: Utilize a variety of tools and equipment to fabricate and modify UAV components, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
- Testing and Evaluation: Collaborate with engineering teams to conduct tests and evaluations on prototypes, documenting results and providing feedback for improvements.
- Problem Solving: Identify and troubleshoot issues during the prototyping process, proposing and implementing effective solutions to enhance performance and reliability.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all prototypes meet established quality standards and specifications, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends and advancements in UAV technology, contributing ideas and insights to improve prototyping processes and outcomes.
You should apply if you
- Have experience in prototyping, craftsmanship, or a related field, preferably within the UAV or aerospace industry
- Have strong technical skills in using fabrication tools and equipment, such as CNC machines, 3D printers, and other hand tools.
- Have a solid understanding of technical drawings and the ability to interpret complex design schematics.
- Have excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
Nice to Have:
- Completed technical training or a comparable qualification
