The Protective Services Specialist is responsible for providing professional protection services for senior corporate leadership. This role focuses on ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of designated executive(s) while maintaining a discreet and professional presence within a corporate and personal environment. The Protective Services Specialist conducts protective operations, threat assessments, and advance planning while coordinating closely with internal corporate teams and external law enforcement partners. All duties must be performed in accordance with local, state, and federal applicable laws.This position has been segmented as Hybrid meaning the work is a combination of onsite and remote as defined by the role segmentation.
Responsibilities:
- Provide close protection services for designated corporate executive(s) during business activities, travel, and events.
- Maintain a professional, discreet presence in corporate offices, public venues, and travel environments.
- Monitor surroundings and maintain high levels of situational awareness to identify potential risks.
- Respond quickly and appropriately to safety or security concerns involving protected executives.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism when working with senior leadership.
Protective Intelligence:
- Conduct protective intelligence monitoring to identify, assess, and escalate potential threats to senior executives, corporate assets, or operations.
- Evaluate and assess threatening communications, suspicious activity, and behavioral indicators that may present safety concerns.
- Maintain confidential threat assessment reports and intelligence documentation.
- Provide timely intelligence updates and situational awareness briefings to corporate security leadership.
- Collaborate with internal security teams and external partners to develop risk mitigation strategies when threats are identified.
Travel Security & Advance Planning:
- Conduct protective advances and site assessments for executive meetings, events, and travel destinations.
- Plan and coordinate secure transportation routes, entry and exit strategies, and contingency plans.
- Coordinate with executive assistant(s), corporate teams, venue management, and transportation providers to support executive travel.
- Identify potential security risks related to locations, transportation, or event environments.
- Maintain real-time communication with other security team members during executive movements.
Security Operations:
- Maintain 24/7 operational readiness and availability to support protective services assignments.
- Prepare and complete incident reports, activity reports, and operational documentation.
- Coordinate with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies when necessary.
Relationships:
- Internal: Collaborates closely with Corporate Security, Executive Leadership teams, Executive Assistants, Human Resources, Legal, and Facilities to coordinate executive movements, travel, and protective planning. Ensure alignment on security protocols, threat awareness, and operational support to maintain a safe and secure environment for senior leadership.
- External: Maintains strong working relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, emergency responders, and external security partners to support executive safety and incident response. Coordinates with transportation providers, hotels, and event venues to ensure appropriate security measures are in place during executive travel and public engagements.
Work Environment:
- Hybrid: This role is partially remote, and the associate is expected to perform assigned responsibilities from a combined home-based and office-based environment.
- Corporate office environments, executive travel, and public venues.
- Interaction with senior executives, board members, and high-profile guests.
- Requires flexible scheduling and 24/7 availability to support protection operations.
- Nontraditional work schedule and irregular shift durations, including weekends.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in armed protective services, law enforcement, military security, or similar protective role
- 2 years of experience in an Executive Protection capacity
- Training in defensive tactics and protective operations
- Advanced proficiency in utilizing security-related software, communication systems, and technology platforms for planning, operations, and reporting
- Strong understanding of risk assessment, situational awareness, and protective protocols
- Excellent judgment, discretion, and ability to operate in high-visibility corporate environments
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism when working with senior leaders
- Demonstrated ability to make sound, independent decisions under pressure with minimal supervision
- Availability to work 24/7, including weekends, holidays, and irregular schedules as required
- Ability to travel extensively, domestically, and internationally, often on short notice and for extended durations
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
Certifications/Training:
- Current Basic First Aid and AED certification from an accredited provider
Licenses:
- Valid carrying concealed firearm license/permit from their state of residence
- Valid Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA / HR 218) qualification card
- Valid driver’s license with an impeccable driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Public Safety, Security Management, or a related field
- 10 years' experience in executive/close protection
- Advanced medical certification (e.g., EMT, TCCC, or equivalent trauma care)
- Formal training in defensive/evasive driving, surveillance detection, and advance operations
- Proficiency in one or more foreign languages
- Experience conducting international executive protection operations, including cultural and diplomatic protocols
- Demonstrated expertise in advanced work, risk analysis, and threat assessment
- Demonstrated excellent communication (oral and written), decision-making, and critical thinking skills under pressure
- Proven ability to prioritize and perform effectively in high-stress situations, with exceptional attention to detail and adaptability

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state or local minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between
