Why does this job exist and why is it critical?​

Maxis’ Professional Training and Education for Growing Entrepreneurs (PROTÉGÉ) programme gives young Malaysian talent the opportunity to build practical skills through classroom and on-the-job training. Over 12 months, you will gain hands-on experience while contributing to the teams that serve our customers.

As a Digital Transformation Project Support trainee, you will help coordinate AI initiatives between technical teams and contact centre stakeholders. You will support project delivery, document business needs and help teams adopt new tools, gaining experience in business analysis and digital transformation along the way.

What are you accountable for:

• Project coordination: Maintain project trackers, record action items in tools such as Jira or Asana, and prepare weekly status updates for business leaders.
• Business requirements: Help gather feedback from stakeholders, understand operational challenges and turn their needs into clear requirements for the AI engineering team.
• Process analysis: Map existing workflows and identify processes that could be improved or automated with AI.
• Testing and adoption: Help test new AI tools before rollout, prepare user guides, coordinate training and collect feedback to understand how teams are using them.
• Vendor and budget tracking: Support the project manager in tracking software licences, vendor deliverables and project expenses.

What do you need to have for the role:

• Malaysian citizenship.
• A Bachelor’s Degree from a local or foreign higher learning institution recognised by the Government of Malaysia.
• A CGPA of 3.0 or above, or equivalent.
• An interest in how AI, automation and technology can improve business operations.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to keep documentation, timelines and meeting actions up to date.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, and the confidence to work with both technical and business teams.
• Familiarity with process mapping tools such as Miro, Lucidchart or Microsoft Visio is an advantage.
• Skills in Excel or Google Sheets for tracking and analysis, or a basic understanding of Power BI, are an advantage.

Preference will be given to fresh graduates with no prior working experience who are currently unemployed.

Duration of Programme: 12 months starting in November
