REGENT is building the seaglider; the first electric flying machine that will transport commercial passengers. With a vehicle that never flies higher than a few meters off the water, we unlock the ability to fly twice as far as an electric aircraft, and certification by maritime authorities which will let us fly first passengers by mid-decade.
We are backed by the world’s best investors: the same investors who are behind SpaceX, Anduril, and Boom Supersonic, in addition to strategic investors like Lockheed Martin, Japan Airlines, and Hawaiian Airlines. We have over $9B in orders from some of the industry’s largest operators and are hard at work getting our full-scale, human-carrying prototype on the water next year.
As a Propulsion Design Engineer at REGENT, you will directly contribute to designs that make the seaglider move. The propulsion system comprises the heart and blood of the seaglider from the propellers, motors, high voltage distribution and energy storage hardware. You will own key components of the propulsion system from ideation, design, test and release through product fulfillment. This role requires an obsession with fundamental principles to design and execute excellent products. Prior experience in electrification is required whether on the job or in extracurricular student activities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Own the design and release of key propulsion components from ideation, fundamental calculations, computer-aided design, prototype, and manufacturing
- This role will also include integration with test teams to validate designs
- Manage CAE models, interfaces, drawings, and supply chain communication
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- BS in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) with 2 years of electrification experience
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
- Siemens NX and Teamcenter experience
- Design and modeling in any of the following: Thermal systems, propeller, electric drive, energy storage, and high voltage distribution
Bonus Points
- FSAE Electric
- Electric vehicle or electric aviation experience

What We Do
REGENT’s mission is to drastically reduce the time and cost of moving people and goods between coastal cities. Our vehicle, called a seaglider, is an all-electric, wing-in-ground-effect craft that operates within a wingspan of the water's surface and couples the speed of an airplane with the operating cost of a boat. Built to the same safety standards as all modern aircraft and watercraft, our vehicle will service routes up to 180 miles with existing battery technology and routes up to 500 miles with next-gen batteries, all via existing dock infrastructure. Our world-class team of aerospace and maritime engineers are leveraging maritime vehicle development pathways to bring our zero-emission, high-speed seagliders to market within five years.
