Design and realize spacecraft propulsion components from concept through production: create detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings, perform fluid/thermal/structural analysis, support procurement, fabrication, assembly and testing, provide technical test support, and resolve technical issues.

As a Propulsion Component Engineer you will own all aspects of spacecraft component design from concept to product realization, while working closely with a fast-paced, agile team that strives to make a high-performance spacecraft from a clean sheet design.

Responsibilities
  • Own all aspects of component design from concept to product realization
  • Generate detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings
  • Perform fluid, thermal, and structural analysis as required
  • Work with the team and external sources to procure materials, fabricate parts, and complete assemblies
  • Provide technical support for test operations
  • Resolve technical issues with innovative and resourceful solutions


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science
  • 3+ years of experience in valve or component design
  • Hands-on experience working with fluid and mechanical systems
  • Proficiency in CAD software with ability to learn new tools
  • Capable of performing structural and thermal analysis in support of design
  • Demonstrated ability in requirements definition, conceptual design, procurement, fabrication, assembly and testing of hardware 


Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience designing and operating high reliability, high performance hardware
  • Experience with on-orbit propulsion components
  • Experience in a startup or agile development environment

  • Flexible schedule and willing to travel as needed

Additional Information:
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.

Skills Required
