Proposal Writer

Location: Remote- U.S. Preferred
Type: Permanent, Full-Time, Direct Hire
Pay: $72k - $85k Annually - based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Position Summary:

The Proposal Writer will be part of a team that is responsible for responding to requests for proposals (RFPs) and related documents such as; Requests for information (RFIs), sources sought notifications (SSNs), and helping to maintain proposal templates, including methodologies, case studies, and resumes. (RFPs will be identified and assigned by the Proposal Manager.)

Required Experience:

• 1-5 years’ experience in proposal writing
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or Journalism, or equivalent experience
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Ability to:

• Take ownership of the proposal writing process 
• Ensure output is compelling and provides a consistent message
• Understand complex RFP requirements and ensure they are addressed
• Work under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines
• Learn quickly and understand current/new tools
• Work autonomously and as part of a team

High degree of:

• Flexibility and the ability to work in a small, fast-paced environment
• Organization and attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Read/parse RFPs, develop requirements matrices, and conduct research on requesting organizations
• Create clean, compelling proposals, statements of work, and RFI/SSN responses
• Take ownership of delegated RFPs throughout the proposal development/delivery lifecycle
• Help maintain/improve/develop proposal templates
• Research and understand current and new service offerings
• Ensure consistency in tone, voice, company mission, and brand
• Collaborate with graphic designers to identify opportunities for compelling graphics
• Coordinate with subject matter experts to obtain technical content
  Communicate effectively, efficiently, often

Preferred & Prioritized:

• Experience writing proposals:
  • In a cybersecurity environment or other technical field of focus
  • For public sector (SLED/Fed) clients
• Strong knowledge of Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms)
• Familiarity with Asana and EOS concepts
• APMP and/or Shipley certification/training
