This is a full-time, remote, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Life Sciences Proposal Writer position.

Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 per year

The salary for this position reflects a variety of factors. Compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s geographic location, relevant experience, education, skills, and alignment with internal equity. Market conditions, budgetary considerations, and organizational compensation guidelines may also influence the final offer.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Proposal Writer to develop high-quality contracts and quotations for analytical testing services within a contract research organization (CRO) environment. This role partners with technical experts and sales staff across multiple testing sites to create detailed, accurate, and client-focused proposals that support business growth in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life sciences industries.

The ideal candidate combines strong writing and project management skills with the ability to convey complex analytical testing activities into clear, persuasive client proposals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage proposals and client-facing documents for analytical testing programs and services.

  • Collaborate with clients, management, and laboratory staff to define project scope and to gather technical and operational information.

  • Translate analytical testing methodologies, capabilities, timelines, and pricing into clear, concise proposal documents.

  • Draft, edit, and review proposals to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards.

  • Maintain proposal templates, pricing models, and supporting documentation.

  • Track proposal activities, status updates, and outcomes within internal databases and online platforms.

  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory requirements relevant to pharmaceutical and biotechnology testing services.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Communications, English, Journalism, or a related field.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of technical experience in a GMP testing laboratory within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences environment preferred.

  • Experience developing proposals for analytical testing services strongly preferred.

  • Equivalent experience in technical writing, scientific communications, or related fields will be considered.

Skills & Competencies

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

  • Ability to understand and communicate technical and scientific concepts to clients.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple proposals and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and proposal management tools.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
