Proposal Writer (Hybrid)
The Hatcher Group seeks a super-sharp proposal writer to support our business development efforts. The candidate will develop proposals and respond to our partner agencies’ data calls for federal, nonprofit, and commercial clients. We need a smart, organized, obsessively conscientious team player with at least four years’ experience in responding to federal or commercial RFPs, preferably on behalf of a professional services firm. Working closely with Hatcher’s Business Development team and subject matter experts, the candidate will produce capability statements, proposal content, pricing/staffing charts, and past performance summaries that align with pitch presentations and response strategies.
In addition to supporting the development of well-written and beautifully designed proposals, the ideal candidate will play a critical role in many different internal and external facing projects. This includes building a library of our core capability write-ups, maintaining the integrity of our proposal development process, facilitating lessons learned sessions and after-action reports, and being readily available to support quick turnaround memos and ad hoc content requests.
The successful candidate will join a fun and hard-working team and work closely with Hatcher leadership across our five sectors, including Education, Environment, Equity & Opportunity, Public health, and Government. In this role, you will have an opportunity to learn from and engage with diverse and talented teams, including our accomplished designers, top-notch event planners, skilled video and radio producers, digital media experts, and seasoned strategic communication specialists. Successful collaboration with this wide range of professionals demands a perfectionist with brains, initiative, total reliability, great people skills, and a good sense of humor. The selected candidate will also be expected to contribute positively to a team environment rooted in the firm’s core values, upholding our community guidelines.
At Hatcher, we are proud to maintain a 'flexible first' work culture. Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance to our Bethesda office for weekly in-person collaboration.
