Are you passionate about collaborating across teams and delivering high-quality, customer-focused solutions? Wellmark is seeking a talented Proposal Manager to join our Key Account Strategy team. In this role, you will support Wellmark’s sales function for large national accounts, coordinate the management of responses and delivery for Requests for Proposal (RFP), Requests for Information (RFI), and national surveys. You’ll work closely with sales professionals and leaders across the organization to ensure our responses are tailored to customer needs and showcase Wellmark’s unique strengths in a competitive marketplace. QualificationsRequired:
- Bachelor's degree or direct and applicable work experience.
- 3+ years of relevant work experience with demonstrated project management skills including strong time management and prioritization capabilities, preferably within the Health insurance or an adjacent industry.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task multiple projects.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate successfully in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to recommend and/or make changes to workflow to improve processes and increase operational efficiency.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred
- Experience with health insurance products, benefit design and/or funding arrangements
- Experience leveraging AI tools or platforms to streamline RFP processes, enhance response quality, or analyze RFP data and trends
a. Lead the RFP response process which includes facilitation of response completion and delivery of comprehensive, well-written, customer-focused RFP/RFI responses that are sales and marketing driven. Provide strategic direction for both the overall RFP response approach and the initial kickoff, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs. Additionally, offer feedback and guidance to the RFP database as appropriate to enhance future response quality and efficiency.
b. Apply business acumen and expertise to influence and collaborate with internal stakeholders, Subject Matter Experts (SME’s), and vendors on the RFP objectives, key messages, values /benefits, and target audiences for responses. Proactively convey relevant information, analysis, and recommendations to internal and external audiences to meet critical RFP requirements.
c. Oversee and manage the RFP timeline to ensure all deadlines and requirements are met. Create project plans for each RFP response, evaluate progress, and resolve issues in a timely manner. This includes facilitating project meetings, achieving project deliverables, and producing project reports for various levels of management. Leverage technology to track and improve quality of RFP responses as well as the RFP process.
d. Lead, analyze and execute feedback on completed RFPs. Consult with business stakeholders to improve RFP results, performance, and effectiveness.
e. Provide complete, accurate and timely reports and statistical data for internal and external reporting and tracking that is market-based information relative to new and existing sales strategies across all distribution channels.
f. Conduct research and contribute to the development of strategic intelligence on prospective and enrolled clients. Through the analysis of RFP win/loss outcomes, assist market- research and product development in identifying reasons for lost opportunities due to product and/or competitor influences.
g. Provide team support and perform backup of duties to ensure accurate and timely delivery of corporate objectives.
h. Other duties as assigned.
