Leidos is seeking a skilled proposal specialist to drive proposal excellence within the Health Solutions Business Area. This position will be responsible for overall quality of proposals across the business area.
The successful candidate must possess the ability to work collaboratively with proposal staff as well as with senior management to drive development of quality proposal responses. This includes responsibility for identifying potential risk and areas for improvement, gaining consensus and buy-in on corrective actions, and implementing improvements in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
The location for this position is at Leidos Headquarters in Reston Virginia, with occasional travel for in-person support at other Leidos offices such as Gaithersburg, MD for major proposal efforts.
Primary Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Capture Managers, Solution Architects, and Program Managers to drive development of proposal responses.

Ensure proposal artifacts are well developed at each proposal stage in alignment with Leidos’ win plan.

Ensure that win themes and differentiators are identified and integrated throughout the proposal response.

Work closely with Solution Architects and Business Development Professionals to track solution status. Maintain intimate knowledge of all priority proposals.

Develop weekly status reports for management and senior leadership briefings

Develop and implement process improvements to enhance proposal quality throughout the Business Area.

Must be able to independently evaluate status and quality of proposal artifacts, and must be comfortable with escalating situations identified as risk
Additional Responsibilities:

Improve and streamline the proposal development process.

Help maintain repository of frequently used proposal information to increase efficiency and knowledge sharing.

Support Business Area with ad-hoc editing, writing, and other communications expertise for marketing or business strategy purposes.
Required Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s Degree with 15+ years of professional experience or master’s degree with 13+ years of experience.

Experience working as a proposal writer, proposal manager, or capture manager with a strong understanding of Federal and State proposal responses.

Fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and understanding of SharePoint repositories.

Excellent writing, communication and organizational skills.

Strong work ethic and desire to excel.
Basic Qualifications

Ability to manage workload with limited supervision and work as needed to meet deadlines (nights, weekends, and holidays at times)

Self-starter with the ability to work independently on geographically disparate teams.

Willingness to support team members and cross-train to provide back-up support.

Ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Limited travel to various locations around the Washington Metro Area during proposal efforts may be required.

Pay Range:Pay Range $148,850.00 - $269,075.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
