Hitachi Energy is seeking for a Proposal Engineer for its Mount Pleasent, PA location.
Job Description:
Proposal Engineer positions offered by Hitachi Energy USA Inc. (Mount Pleasant, PA). Responsible for preparation of proposals for the High Voltage Dead Tank Breaker, Live Tank Breaker, Gas Insulated Switchgear, and Hybrid Switchgear. Proposal Engineer will work closely with Regional Service Sales Managers, Product Managers, Commercial Operations, Supply Chain and Engineering throughout the quoting and order entry process. Proposal Engineer will review customer RFQs and determine best solution for their service needs, including scope definition, identification of materials needed, labor requirements and cost/pricing for all components. Determine price of services based on historical data and competitive intelligence. Evaluate and prepare for risks associated with complex service requests to ensure safe, efficient and profitable work is completed. Continue to drive process improvements for our tools used for the tendering process.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or a related engineering field and 3 years of experience in the position offered or 3 years of experience in tendering and proposal preparation or support. Also requires 2 years of experience: working with the electrical grid, mainly focused on switchgears including dead tank circuit breakers, gas insulated switchgear, generator circuit breakers and their components; reading technical documents and drawings related to electrical and mechanical equipment in order to prepare technical proposals and suggest designs for solutions; using ERP systems and customer relationship management tools including SAP and Salesforce.com (or equivalent technology); preparing proposal documentation, as well as tracking pipeline and forecasting for projects; and working on multiple projects at one time and prioritizing job activities while maintaining a strong customer relationship and communication with the outside sales team. Position reports to Mount Pleasant, PA office. Company offers flexible work from home schedule, but in-office work is required and individual must live within commuting distance of stated office. Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.
