We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Proofpoint Engineer to join our Managed Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting, implementing, and troubleshooting Proofpoint email security systems within a managed services environment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Proofpoint solutions, including Email Protection, Targeted Attack Protection (TAP), and Information Protection, along with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting.
- Proven four years of experience as a Proofpoint Engineer, with a focus on supporting and troubleshooting in a managed services environment.
- In-depth knowledge of Proofpoint Email Protection, Targeted Attack Protection (TAP), and Information Protection solutions.
- Strong understanding of email security protocols and best practices (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, etc.).
- Experience in troubleshooting complex email delivery issues, including spam, phishing, and malware filtering.
- Familiarity with cloud-based and on-premises Proofpoint environments.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools for system administration tasks (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in a managed services or SaaS environment preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as Proofpoint Certified Technical Specialist (PCTS) or similar industry certifications (CISSP, CEH, etc.) are a plus.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience with email infrastructure (Exchange, Office 365, Gmail, etc.) and integration with Proofpoint solutions.
- Familiarity with security incident response and incident management.
- Experience with SIEM tools and email monitoring platforms.

Preferred Qualifications- System Implementation & Configuration:
- Design, implement, and configure Proofpoint solutions (Email Protection, TAP, Data Loss Prevention, etc.) based on client requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Proofpoint solutions into existing customer environments.
- Perform initial and ongoing system configurations and upgrades for Proofpoint platforms.
- Troubleshooting & Support:
- Provide expert troubleshooting and issue resolution for Proofpoint-related problems, including email delivery issues, false positives/negatives, and configuration errors.
- Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and proactively resolve any problems to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Provide escalation support for complex or critical issues, coordinating with Proofpoint support when necessary.
- Maintenance & Optimization:
- Regularly review and optimize Proofpoint configurations to ensure maximum efficiency, security, and performance.
- Manage ongoing maintenance activities such as patching, updates, and system tuning.
- Client Interaction & Collaboration:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients utilizing Proofpoint solutions, providing expert guidance, training, and consultation.
- Collaborate with clients to assess security needs and recommend best practices for email security.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed documentation on Proofpoint configurations, troubleshooting steps, and known issues.
- Provide regular reports on system performance, security incidents, and any actions taken to address issues.
- Training & Knowledge Sharing:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Proofpoint features, tools, and best practices, and share knowledge with other team members and clients.
- Lead internal training sessions to ensure team members are proficient in handling Proofpoint systems.
