About the opportunity 

We are seeking a Promotional Marketing Specialist, based in Germantown (GTN), Maryland or remote, to play a pivotal role in driving growth and demand for the Life Sciences portfolio, with a strategic focus on developing and executing promotional activities each quarter to drive strategic revenue initiatives within North America market.

The Promotion and Pricing Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing promotional and pricing strategies that drive customer acquisition, retention, competitive displacement, and revenue growth. This role owns the full lifecycle of promotional programs — from strategic concept and pricing structure through execution, measurement, and post-mortem analysis — ensuring promotions are commercially sound, competitively differentiated, and aligned with broader business and brand objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Promotional Strategy & Development - Develop and execute promotional activities through the region

  • Design and develop promotional campaigns (discounts, bundles, giveaways, limited-time offers, loyalty incentives, etc.) aligned with quarterly and annual revenue goals.
  • Build a promotional calendar that balances always-on offers with high-impact seasonal, competitive, and launch-driven campaigns.
  • Translate business objectives (growth, retention, share gain, recovery) into specific, executable promotional mechanics.

Pricing for Promotions

  • Develop pricing structures and discount architecture for promotional offers, ensuring margin impact is modeled and approved before launch.
  • Conduct price elasticity and offer-value analysis to determine optimal discount depth, duration, and eligibility.
  • Partner with Finance/Revenue teams to forecast and track the P&L impact of promotional pricing decisions.

Execution & Operations

  • Own end-to-end execution of promotions: briefing creative/content teams, coordinating with eCommerce/POS/CRM teams on offer setup, and ensuring accurate, on-time launch.
  • Manage promo codes, redemption rules, eligibility logic, and expiration/governance to prevent abuse or margin leakage.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Legal, Product, and Customer Service to ensure smooth rollout.

Analysis & Optimization

  • Track and report on promotional performance (redemption rates, incremental revenue, margin impact, customer acquisition cost, switch/win-back rates).
  • Run A/B tests on offer mechanics, pricing tiers, and messaging to continuously improve performance.
  • Deliver post-campaign analyses and recommendations to leadership, including lessons learned and next-best-action recommendations.

Be the voice of the region to global colleagues and within QIAGEN

  • Provide feedback to global marketing and product teams on NA regional market dynamics, funding changes, macroeconomic, microeconomic, etc
  • Ensure the voice and needs of the North America customer is incorporated into annal planning.

Work with Global Pricing and Marketing  

  • Provide feedback on marketing performance, customer behavior and promotion impact to global.
  • Provide commercial and marketing performance feedback to global colleagues.
  • Seek help, collaboration and support from global marketing where needed.

Additional qualities:

  • Develop, communicate and execute regional marketing plans, in close cooperation with responsible stakeholders
  • Excellent data analysis skills with ability to decide on marketing activities based on business insights.
  • Actively participate in preparation of launches for new products to be introduced into the market; drive success of products introduction in the field
  • Ensure budget compliance and measures return of investments of marketing activities.
  • Communicate, inspire, motivate and inform colleagues in sales, service and other teams ensuring clear direction with promotions.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key customers/ networks/ opinion leaders.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor situation and respond with marketing promotional activities where appropriate.

Your profile

  • Experience in marketing with a focus on executing promotions to generate revenue and engage with customers.
  • Background in tactical marketing, and working with a commercial organization to achieve regional budget targets.
  • Experience and knowledge of the life sciences and laboratory diagnostic testing within North America.
  • 2-4 years of experience in promotional marketing.
  • Experience with Agile marketing processes ideal but not required. Experience with sales platforms such as Seismic ideal but not required.
  • Excellent presentation skills and training experience, with a proven ability to educate and engage diverse audiences both virtually and in-person.

Location:

  • Germantown (GTN), Maryland or Remote. Needs to be able to work in line with Eastern Timezone.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $70,000 - 80,000. Compensation will be based on the candidate’s experience, skills, geographic location, and other job-related factors. In addition to base salary, we offer a total compensation package that includes a bonus plan and generous benefits.
