Prologis Ventures Investment AssociateCompany:
Prologis
Title: Investment Associate, Prologis Ventures
Location: San Francisco
A day in the life
Prologis Ventures invests in companies and builds new businesses across logistics, energy, digital infrastructure, mobility, and the built world. The Investment Associate helps source, evaluate, and execute investments from Series A through IPO, drawing on market research, customer diligence, financial underwriting, and investment thesis development. The Associate works with Prologis' core investment platforms (logistics real estate, digital infrastructure, energy) and customers to translate market and operating needs into compelling investments and post-investment growth opportunities. The role spans strategy, finance, and execution and requires clear analysis, disciplined investment processes, and active portfolio support.
Key responsibilities include:
• Develop market maps and investment theses based on customer economics, value-chain structure, competitive dynamics, and interviews with experts and customers.
• Lead market, product, technology, financial, customer, and competitive diligence; design reference-check programs, analyze data rooms, and document key risks and mitigants.
• Build and maintain driver-based financial models, including scenario, sensitivity, and returns analyses across different entry, ownership, and financing structures.
• Establish portfolio KPIs and recurring reporting, compare actual performance with underwriting assumptions, and recommend follow-on investment or governance actions.
• Convert diligence findings into post-investment plans by working with Prologis platform teams to define pilots, success metrics, and actions to address barriers to adoption.
• Support thesis-driven sourcing and manage the pipeline through targeted outreach, clear prioritization, next-step tracking, and accurate CRM records.
• Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, maintain process documentation and issue logs, and communicate progress, risks, decisions, and timing through closing.
Building blocks for success
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, finance, computer science, or another quantitative field.
• 1–3+ years of experience in technical product management, investment banking, management consulting, private equity, venture capital, or a similarly rigorous field.
• Experience with or exposure to digital infrastructure and energy, particularly data centers, power generation, grid infrastructure, or energy storage. Experience in logistics, supply chain, mobility, automation, or the built world is also relevant.
• Demonstrated experience building significant automations with AI tools.
• Fluency with AI tools in day-to-day work, including research, analysis, diligence, workflow automation, and drafting. Candidates must exercise sound judgment about output quality, confidentiality, and when human review is required.
• Strong work ethic and ability to learn new concepts quickly, take ownership, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
• Strong financial modeling skills, including driver-based, sensitivity, and scenario analyses.
• Ability to conduct fundamental market and company research and turn findings into clear recommendations.
• Ability to write concise, executive-ready materials that clearly state assumptions, scenarios, risks, and decision thresholds.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams, maintain accurate process documentation, and move work forward despite incomplete information.
Preferred:
• Advanced degree, such as an MBA, MS, or PhD.
• Experience with venture capital or private equity transactions.
• Experience with investment research, CRM, or portfolio tools, including platforms such as AlphaSense, PitchBook, or Affinity.
Hiring Salary Range: $120,000 - $155,000. Total compensation, including target bonus and long-term incentives, will depend on the candidate’s location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, along with internal equity and market data.
