Scope of Position:
An exciting opportunity has become available to join our team as a Projects Manager. You would be responsible for the implementation of medium to large projects ($250K to $3M+ annual spend) single or multi-site (Canada wide), providing solutions that cover VMI, Vending, online (Vallen.ca) and others, to deliver MRO and Safety supplies to various verticals including, but not limited to, Oil & Gas, Construction, Utility providers and Manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
* 60/40 split between office and travel estimated though this varies greatly depending on project (usually travel is not more than 40%).
* Customer on-site visits, where required, for; customer kickoff meetings, pre-surveys, implementations or as required.
* Strong Microsoft tools capability (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, Power BI etc.) required.
* Project management software experience preferred.
* Strong interpersonal skills are required. You will be working closely with departments within Vallen (Sales/TM's/NAM/s, Quotations, Pricing, Supply Chain, Digital etc.). You will also be working closely with Customers, typically Manager or Director level, site Managers through to shop floor.
* Responsible for creation of all project documentation primarily via Smartsheet (online tool). Set clear guidelines for all projects through the creation and ongoing upkeep of the statement of works and project plan along with any other documentation as needed.
* Must be able to work independently, managing multiple projects at a single time.
* You need to be a critical thinker, constantly reviewing and adjusting projects as/when required.
* Responsible for clear communication and adherence to project timelines are maintained throughout the project(s).
* Ensure both customer and Vallen OH&S requirements are met.
* Responsible for customer account and ship to setup in Vallen ERP for major projects.
* Manage multiple projects while maintaining clear documentation for each, in order to update key stakeholders (internal and external) on a weekly (or as required) basis.
* Read, understand, and follow Vallen's health, safety, and environment policies and all applicable OH&S legislation/regulations.
* Actively participate in Vallen's health and safety management system, including training, audits, assessments, safety meetings, and inspections.
* Identify, control, and report workplace hazards including following WHMIS/TDG requirements and reporting near misses.
* Report workplace injuries immediately and participate in any return-to-work programs or requirements.
* Be fit for duty and physically capable of performing all required tasks.

Required Qualifications:
* College/University Diploma or project management certification required (Business, and/or Sales & Marketing, or Technical focus preferred). Exceptions made for those with previous experience managing projects with MRO or Safety product knowledge.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power BI, Outlook etc.) required.
* Minimum 1-5 years of related experience, preferable in a Sales/Distribution environment.
* Previous Management experience required.
* The ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workload in a very fast paced environment.
