A Little About Us
The Yahoo Platform Engineering (YPE) group consists of the technology groups who enable all of the Yahoo verticals to develop and deliver the best possible products to our customers globally with highest standards. YPE PMO is responsible for supporting technical projects that span across multiple cross functional organizations in Yahoo.
A Lot About You
YPE PMO is looking for a highly organized, self-motivated senior technical leader. Experience analyzing and understanding of architecture at an enterprise level is crucial. You have the passion to learn and have the technical depth to easily learn ,understand, and implement new technology in the workplace. You are able to clearly understand and effectively communicate the scope, set milestones, expectations, and timelines to a wider audience at all levels. You have a strong analytical background with an ability to motivate, work, and communicate effectively with the project team and stakeholders. You will work with production engineers, infrastructure engineers, procurement, supply chain, IT department, and more to define and allocate resources needed to drive the project to success. You are open to suggestions and new ideas. Able to compromise and negotiate while continuing to drive progress towards the delivery of the world-class infrastructure we're supporting together.
Job Responsibilities
• Partner and collaborate with all organizations to lead technical projects.
• Manage projects from beginning to end; defining, managing and executing all phases of the project lifecycle.
• You will lead cross-functional multidisciplinary meetings and will foster teamwork resulting in positive outcomes.
• You should possess the ability to find creative solutions to issues that jeopardize project goals or timing.
• You may lead or assist with technical due diligence activities, including assessment of appropriate technologies, solution designs, vendor selections and vendor management.
• You will develop and be accountable for detailed project schedules and milestones based on business objectives and timing requirements.
• Adapt to various changes within the organization and quickly adjust and reset priority and resources.
• Possess an agile mindset and continuously seek improvement and innovation to streamline processes.
Minimum Job Qualifications
• 10+ years experience managing large scale technical programs
• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience
• Extensive knowledge of spreadsheet and presentation software
• Distinctive problem solving and analytical skills
• Experience with executive presentation and negotiation is a plus
• Excellent communication and problem resolution skills with the ability to grasp issues quickly and provide solutions
• Proven ability to work effectively at all organizational levels
• A self-starter with the ability to achieve broadly communicated objectives under a minimal amount of supervision
• Work with a sense of urgency often under time constraints and pressure to deliver
