Day in the life:
Senior PM Specialist is responsible for managing the development of technology and coordination of activities for the treatment of complex spinal conditions within the Spine R&D organization. This role represents Operations on cross functional programs for developing and improving medical devices from concept through commercialization. Aligns and manages activities for the Operations group in collaboration with R&D for evolving program priorities. • Partner cross functionally with PMO, marketing, operations, quality, regulatory, and other associated functions to develop and communicate Operations project strategies, execution status and identify issues/resolutions • Maintain functional strategies while developing plans and schedules to meet project goals with best-in-class risk management; lead execution of tasks and management of issues/exceptions.• Lead resource planning for the project in coordination with Operations functional management. Coordinate project staffing with other leaders, and work with functional management to assign resources to project.• Lead Ops project team to establish project goals, timelines, milestones, quality, and budget for projects within the Spine business.• Proactively provide input and judgement to influence best path forward, staying informed and aware to act, communicate and adjust during project execution.• Communicate key program information to ensure leadership engagement and alignment.

Must Have: Minimum Qualifications• Bachelors degree required• Minimum of 4 years of experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years experience

Nice to Have:• 5+ years of experience managing operations activities and/or teams• Experience with Medical Device Manufacturing (including all primary regulations FDA/ISO/PMDA)• Experience in development and integration of complex product systems (orthopedics and/or spine preferred)• Sufficient competency in systems, requirements flow, risk management, quality, reliability, and design controls to ensure best practices are applied, to assess progress and risks, and to make preventive course corrections.• Experience in creating an effective plan while aligning relevant Core Team members and stakeholders• Experience and/or capability in planning and managing project budgets• Ability to understand, characterize and communicate project and operation risks• Excellent verbal / communication skills• Proven ability of working effectively in a virtual and global team• Familiar with Quality Management System requirements and Supply Chain. • Familiar with 510K, EU MDR, CE Mark and other country regulations• Experience from multidisciplinary environment & Cross-functional experience in R&D, Operations and Quality.• A background in spinal technologies; an understanding of clinical/technical applications of spinal products, procedures, and therapies• Experienced in working with large, multi-site, matrix organizations.• Familiarity with Design for Six Sigma, Design for Reliability (DfR), Design for Reliability and Manufacturability (DRM), Design for Lean Sigma (DFLS) and/or robust design practices
