Senior Manager, Project Management - Capital One Software at Capital One (Richmond, VA)
Capital One has taken a bold journey to build a technology company while operating in a complex, highly regulated business. We have built out a large engineering organization, moved to the cloud, re-architected our applications and data platforms, and embraced machine learning at scale.
Our AI/ML capabilities are now at the forefront of what’s possible in banking. (e.g., Eno)
As we uncovered new challenges along the way, we built and battle tested new capabilities to meet those needs. We’ve open sourced several of the software tools we built (e.g., Cloud Custodian, Hygieia) and forged new partnerships with other digital leaders (e.g., MSFT).
Through this journey, we've developed a suite of internal solutions uniquely designed to meet the challenges of a digital-first, cloud-first business at scale. The Capital One Software team is exploring how these internal solutions across cloud, data, governance, and applications could serve the needs of other companies born or built in the cloud.
We are looking for experienced project management and technology leaders to join the founding team.
In this role, you’ll be expected to demonstrate excellence in four key areas:
Cross Functionality: You will work on projects with tight deadlines in a team-based environment, partnering directly with product, engineering, and leadership teams. As a Senior Manager, you will gather and analyze information, formulate hypotheses, and develop actionable recommendations.
Communication: You have experience in creating powerful and succinct messaging combined with relationship-building, leadership, and communication skills. The ability to bring together stakeholders and persuade senior leadership to act is essential.
Strategic Mindset: You will serve as trusted advisor to our leadership team, working with them to make clear, data-driven decisions. You understand how to optimize operations, increase revenues, decrease cost, and various modeling techniques.
