Launched in April 2020, Supernatural is an immersive, virtual reality fitness experience created by Within that combines the best music, coaches, destinations and movements into an incredible home workout; with a new workout released every day.

We’re looking for a Data Product Manager to join our team! At Within, we move fast in a rigorous and creative environment. The right candidate will be a builder, communicator, and collaborator who possesses persistence and determination to create beloved experiences. Above all, the Product Manager must be passionate about driving results and making great products.

What you’ll do:

As a Data Product Manager you’ll be responsible for leading and creating data products to drive business impact and generate meaningful insights across the entire organization. You’ll be empowered to act boldly and independently as you make the decisions that will craft a data-powered user experience.  Partnering directly with marketing, senior engineers, and other product managers, you’ll be a key driver of strategic outcomes. The impact you’ll make:

  • Autonomously influence a cross-functional team of non-technical and technical collaborators to optimize Supernatural for insights 
  • Articulate potential upsides of machine learning/data science models as they relate to organizational objectives 
  • Continually prioritize work by communicating critical milestones, deconstructing features into discrete tasks, and focusing on results
  • Participate in ongoing user and competitive analysis to understand landscape, positioning, and feature set.
  • Research new technologies and predict applicability to our existing business
  • Perform financial and/or user metric forecasting to support rationale for proposed feature set
  • Translate product goals into backlogs and prioritized features that effectively deploy resources
  • Work with cross-functional team members to plan the go-to-market strategy of completed features
  • Accurately estimate projects and partner with project management to ship predictably and on time
  • Communicate risks to estimated releases and propose mitigation plans
  • Continually review the performance of features and flows to improve business or UX results

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
  • ​​Comfort leading more technical discussions to come up solutions to gnarly technical problems with the engineering team
  • Experience with large data sets, machine learning, and/or data science projects
  • 3+ years of progressively increasing responsibility in consumer software product management
  • Strong background in statistics methodology, applications to business problems, and/or big data
  • Experience with SQL and the ability to mine data needed for feature analysis independently
  • Deep understanding of A/B testing and experience using analytical concepts and statistical techniques: hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations for business units.
  • Comfort leading product and feature investigation with analysts to understand and discuss technical concepts and manage tradeoffs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically
  • Experience with agile development methodologies
  • Comfort with ambiguity 
  • Fluidly prioritize typical job responsibilities along with ad hoc requests
  • Actively build relationships with business owners, product managers, and engineers to deliver on your product roadmap.

Bonus Points for:

  • Experience with data architecture 
  • Ability to speak the language of game design and game development
  • Experience working on consumer software products at massive scale
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Looker, 3rd party analytics tool (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc), data warehousing, statistical analysis tools, and MS Excel
  • Hands on experience using Machine Learning techniques 

Where you’ll be: 

  • Our offices are currently closed due to COVID-19. Post COVID, we are giving you the flexibility to work from home should you choose to do so.
  • Working hours: We operate within the Pacific time zone for collaboration
